insure that you pronounce your
new language well and that you
feel comfortable speaking it.
To do this, I combine
intensive coaching and a regular
use of recordings (at home and
in class). How good you sound and how relaxed you are determine the
natural rapport you create with
native speakers. |

VOCABULARY |

I
teach you several systems to
learn vocabulary quickly and to
store it in long-term memory. |

GRAMMAR |
|
I
teach you grammar using three
steps.
I first insure that you
clearly understand the concept.
I then make certain
you are capable of
reproducing the pattern.
I finally show you how to
turn it into automatic behavior
through specific exercises. |

SPEAKING |
|
Many
language students know a lot of
grammar and vocabulary, but they
cannot speak. (More accurately, they are deeply convinced that they cannot
speak.) |
|
Using
techniques I have developed
teaching and learning multiple
languages over the past thirty
years, I gradually pull you over
the fluency line.
This works beautifully
with new or experienced
students. To do this, I help you
organize your daily habits and
create an efficient environment
for language learning outside of
class.
In class I coach you to
become a fluent speaker through
a set of specific techniques. I
also help you develop a
competent and confident
attitude, much
as a coach will lead an
athlete to excel in a sport. |

Becoming
fluent is simple, but it
requires perseverance,
discipline and self-confidence.
You must consistently
train and the practice must be
enjoyable and inspiring.
Remember: language learning
ability is circumstantial not
genetic. |

COMPREHENSION |
|
You
develop comprehension through
time.
I help you introduce the
new language in your daily life
so that comprehension gradually
and naturally develops. |

CUSTOM
MATERIALS |
|
We
create written and audio
materials together.
The scenarios
are based on your
specific needs. (business,
travel, family, research etc.) |

|
|
TIME |
|
Some
students prefer to do an
intensive program over a short
period of time (followed by
reinforcement lessons).
Others create a regular
program, meeting two or three
times a week.
It is a matter of time
availability,
and preference. As long
as you continue to study you
will progress. |

LONG-DISTANCE
SESSIONS |
|
I
am also available for phone and
internet video sessions for
traveling students to maintain
continuity or for those who live
in a different city.
Long-distance sessions
are extremely effective. |
